The hefty size and weight were what first struck me about the James Bond Encyclopedia when it arrived, but when I opened the book and started to browse through the the wealth of information and stunningly reproduced photographs it was obvious that it is destined for the coffee table rather than gathering dust in my Bond library.
Although it may receive little use as a reference book, the dedicated Bond fan will derive pleasure simply by flipping through the glossy pages until something of interest is found. Read the rest of this entry »

The acquisition of a worldwide licence to provide a range of James Bond products by Cartamundi in 2002 saw the launch of several successful products based on images from the first 19 films. The company, which is the worldwide market leader in the production of playing, is based in Turnhout in Belgium and provides high quality playing cards and poker chips for retail market, casinos and collectors. One conclusion that you arrive at from the books - the films to a lesser degree - is that despite his heavy intake of vodka martinis and cigarettes, James Bond remains exceptionally fit. Read the rest of this entry »

It is now more than six months since the James Bond Ultimate Edition DVD collection was released in the UK, which has given more than enough time to have the chance to watch the films and documentaries. If you’re lucky enough to have gone for the full set of disks in the attache case then you already know what a nice package it is , although it should be noted that it is a presentation case and not sturdy enough to survive being used on a daily basis.
