Old-Fashioned

1 level teaspoon of castor sugar
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
A squeeze of fresh orange juice
1 large measure of Bourbon
1 slice of orange
1 Maraschino cherry

Dissolve the castor sugar in the minimum quantity of boiling water. Add the Angostura bitters, the orange juice and the Bourbon. Pour the mixture onto ice cubes in a short tumbler and stir. Garnish with a slice of orange and a Maraschino cherry.
