Daniel Craig’s first outing as James Bond in Casino Royale has recently been re-released on DVD and Blu-Ray to coincide with the theatrical release of Quantum of Solace.

After its release in the USA last week, Casino Royale is released in the UK on DVD, Blu-Ray and UMD. The 2-disk set, billed as a Collector’s Edition, includes a number of documentaries, although many fans have expressed disappointment at the extras, most specifically deleted scenes and audio commentaries. Details are available from the British Board of Film Censors website about the rating for Casino Royale. The film has been passed uncut for DVD release and will be rated 12 (the cinema release was 12A).

Casino Royale has created quite a demand for the drink that Bond orders at the poker match, which he later christens the Vesper. A martini at heart, the Vesper does pack a punch with its mixture of gin, vodka and Kina Lillet.

Leicester Square was taken over completely for the Royal Premier of Casino Royale. The gardens were shut to the public on Monday and Tuesday while frantic activity went on to dress the square in a Casino Royale theme.
