Skyfall helps boost MGM revenue for 2012

Skyfall and The Hobbit helped lift MGM’s revenues by 97 percent compared with the previous year, a huge turnaround considering the perilous state of the company in 2009. Total revenue for the year was $1.38 billion, with net income for 2012 standing at $129 million.

That just shows how reliant on successful blockbusters the studios have become, and how financially disastrous it can be when they are not successful.
